Texas saw a 7 percent decrease in foreclosures from January to February, according to a recent study.

Texas dropped out of the five states with the highest foreclosure rates, according to a report by Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac Inc. In February, Texas saw one new foreclosure for every 591 households, about 1.7 times the national average. The state had 13,616 foreclosures last month — the highest number of any other state.

States with the highest foreclosure rates were Georgia, Indiana, Colorado, Michigan and Ohio.
