According to Forbes magazine, only Virginia is a better place to conduct business than Texas.
The Lone Star State was rated among the best in population growth, transportation, tort climate and cost of living. It also has the largest number of companies with $1 billion in sales – 110.
The magazine gave Texas low scores in high school attainment, unemployment, crime and poverty.
In order, North Carolina, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, Delaware, Florida and Georgia rounded out the top ten.
