Area home prices had record gains — again — according to the latest Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller Home Price Index, released today.

Prices rose 9.9 percent in November from a year earlier and were slightly higher than the 9.7 percent increase recorded in October.

Las Vegas had the largest annual home price increases at 27.3 percent. San Francisco was next at 23.2 percent.

North Texas preowned home prices rose about 10 percent last year over 2012.

The index tracks prices of preowned single-family homes in 20 metropolitan areas. Dallas is the only Texas city tracked.
